Ohio judge calls speed cameras ‘scam’
This is a post from Jill Drury, reporting about a Hamilton judge who accused Elmwood Place, Ohio’s authorities installing speed cameras to get more money. The Judge is Robert Ruehlman and he ruled Thursday that Elmwood is operating a scam against motorists. The cameras have been operational since September and have spotted 6,600 speeding citations in just the first month at $105 per ticket.
Jill Drury explains in her post that business owners and motorists filed a lawsuit explaining that cameras has damaged village’s image.

Normally I am a proponent of stoplight cameras because of the increased safety they bring to the road especially since as a mobile locksmith I am always on the road. However, 6,600 speeding ticket in one month!? That seems astronomical being that the town population is around a 1/3 of the speeding tickets.
Yes. thank you for the feed back. I understand your concern and you have done your research on the village’s population. Considering the business owners and motorists in the village complained that the cameras are ruining the reputation of the village, I am guessing that a lot of the speeding tickets had been issued to visitors as well.
