Why Men Really Do Need a Cave

I read this post from Mitchell Parker of houzz and learned that the desire of a man to have a personalized space is actually necessary and beneficial psychologically not only for him but for everyone.

Mitchell reminds women not to worry whenever their guy asks for his own personally sanctuary. This does not mean that men are looking for a way to avoid and rebel against their relationship.

Sam Gosling, a University of Texas at Austin psychology professor and author of Snoop: What Your Stuff Says About You, explains that “Space is very important for regulating emotions,”. Gosling has been studying the relationship of space with emotions as well as has had close observation of how our personal touch on  our space can positively affect our emotional state.

Gosling shares “It’s incredibly important to be in one’s own space and resonate with who one is,” he ads that for a man, “It’s a way of saying, ‘I love my family and flowers, but that’s not what I need to regulate my emotions,’”
