Erin of Contemporist shares pictures and the architects’ description of a Sea-view House in Wellington, New Zealand.

Parsonson Architects explain in Contemporist that the house is positioned below the road and is facing the botanical gardens out to Wellington Harbour. The house is said to accommodate a big family having different age groups. It has three levels with parents and small children’s bedroom on top and bedrooms for older children as well as a swimming pool at the bottom level. The middle level consists of various living spaces and it is designed to capture views and all day sun.

The Parsonson Architects include the description of the two main gestures that set up the structure of the house. They described them on Contemporist.com as “outer sections of pitched corrugated iron roofs which wrap and frame the house, these fit within the building envelope and create a relationship with the existing houses of the area, while a flat roofed lightly shaped wooden clad element running between the pitched roofs houses the garage, bedrooms and pool.” Below are the images:
