Author, Flora Zhang of CNN talks about Microsoft software developer, Kevin Wang deciding to make teaching a full time job yet without sacrificing his current work in Microsoft.

Every morning, before going to the office, Wang would go to a nearby high school and teach computer science. He shared about his experience to colleagues and friends and invited them to teach in local schools.

As word of his efforts spread, he was able to launch Technology Education and Literacy in Schools (TEALS) in 2009. It is an initiative that places computer or technology professionals as part-time teachers in high schools.

As Wang’s responsibility grew, there came a time that he thought of quitting his job. However, Microsoft supported Wang and told him to devote all his workday time into his organization.
