There were many challenges and complications in the past that led Chad Hurley and other YouTube co-founders to sell the video sharing site to Google.

Recently, YouTube co-founder Chad Hurley announced that he will develop and launch a video sharing site of his own. In his statement, it sounds like he is adding some features that other video sharing sites do not possess: In his statement: “primarily video-based…and gives flexibility for people to work together and create content.”

Hurley was asked by Kevin Rose (Digg founder and Google ventures partner) if his intention is to create a site better than YouTube. Hurley explained that he does not intend to eliminate YouTube, he just wish to create a platform better suited for collaboration. [Adweek]

YouTube is a well-established and impressive video sharing site. It is exciting to see what Chad Hurley has developed. It seems he is creating something different and he is confident that his creation has some features and services that will attract some interest.
