College Student Creates A Gel That Can Stop Bleeding

A third year student from NYU claims to have developed a substance that can stop bleeding. He calls this substance Veti-Gel and it is said to activate the clotting and healing process quickly.

The video above is recorded by Landolina and his colleagues at startup Suneris. The raw pork loin in the video has been pumped full of pig’s blood. The team then creates a 3 inch slice into the meat resulting to blood immediately pouring out of it. They then squeeze Veti-Gel on the cut then instantly blood stops pouring.

Landolina explains in Mother Nature Network (MNN): “I have seen Veti-Gel close any size of wound that it is applied to,” and adds “As long as you can cover it, it can close it.” Landolina admits in his email sent to TechNewsDaily that while Veti-Gel shows some potential, there is still more testing to be done.

Veti-Gel also can treat severe burns claims Landolina. The substance had an opportunity to be tested after a friend of Landolina’s colleague accidentally fell into the bonfire. The wound healed the following day after applying the gel on it.

There are claims that Veti-Gel can work and rival other products that can close wounds such as QuikClot and Floseal. Currently, Landolina is developing tests that can examine the difference of Veti-Gel with its rival treatments.

Landolina has already applied for a patent and is in the process of getting FDA’s approval. He has already accomplished so much. It is even more amazing since he is able to do this at the age of 20 years old.
